Teaching students how to work together effectively is a vital skill, but managing logistics in a digital space can be a challenge. This session focuses on how to use Canvas Groups and Collaborations to create structured, accountable, and engaging team-based learning experiences. We will explore how to move from individual tasks to collaborative projects where students can co-author documents, share resources, and communicate within their own private "mini-course" spaces.
Key Topics
•Group Sets & Categories: Learn how to automatically or manually split your roster into project teams, lab groups, or reading circles.
•Student Group Spaces: Discover the "Mini-Canvas" environment students get—including their own pages, discussions, and file storage.
•Group Assignments: Master the "One Submission per Group" feature to streamline your grading while still providing individual or collective feedback.
•Collaborations with Google/Microsoft: See how to integrate external tools so students can co-edit a single document or slide deck directly within Canvas.

To participate in this course, double-click Canvas on your desktop
and click the course tile on your Canvas Dashboard.

Please note: The course will unlock on Friday, May 29th.
