In this interactive session, we will unpack how Geodes are intentionally organized to align with phonics progression and content knowledge. Participants will explore practical strategies for using Geodes in small group, differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of readers. Walk away with a clearer understanding of how to plan intentionally, maximize student engagement, and create meaningful reading experiences that build both decoding skills and comprehension.
I have been in Olathe for more than 10 years. Most of that time was as a 2nd grade teacher at Briarwood Elementary. Currently, I am an elementary instructional coach for Clearwater Creek and Prairie Center.
I have spent all of my career in Olathe teaching 2nd grade and being an instructional coach. I love supporting teachers, new educators and the school improvement plan at the building level.
I have been in Olathe for the last 7 years teaching 2nd and 5th grade, as well as serving as an instructional coach for the last two years. Prior to that I taught 4th grade in SMSD.
