The staff of the Compass Program will engage in the theoretical foundations of Safe Crisis Management (SCM). This training establishes a shared framework for Compass staff exploring how student behavior is a form of communication and examine the factors that contribute to escalation while supporting students’ social-emotional and behavioral growth.
The staff of the Compass Program will engage in the physical components of Safe Crisis Management (SCM) and the responsibilities that accompany their use. This training supports Compass staff in developing an understanding of the principles behind physical interventions and reinforces that this is only one part of a comprehensive approach to supporting students’ needs.
